Time to Take Care of Me

As many of you know, my husband fell off a roof on April 6th. He broke his pelvis in 3 places, fractured 2 ribs and did some spinal damage. He was in a wheelchair for the past 3 months and was just released to start walking again last week.  He's doing amazing and hardly even needs a walker.

I've spent every waking hour taking care of him and it's been a joy, but I neglected one thing - ME!

Now that he's back on his feet again, it's time to turn my care-giving attentions to myself and getting back on track with my health. Step #1 - I joined a gym today. It's very close to my house and I am looking forward to working out and getting stronger. (Never thought I'd hear myself say I was looking forward to exercising.)

I have several health issues related to food, so I really need to redesign my diet: sugar-free, gluten-free, low-carb, clean eating. All of which means I have to learn to cook all over again. This is not going to be easy, but I'm going to give it my best and lean heavily on the Holy Spirit to give me the strength to do what is right for my body.

If you have any good recipes, please feel free to share them and if you have any extra time during prayer, say one for me.  I'm praying for all who come to this blog, so if you're reading this, I'm praying for you, too.

Today, let's aim for More of Him, Less of Us.
